Late yesterday afternoon I noticed a few "Cappers" around the board start going with CHI or the under. Without giving any "Secrets" what was observed that led to this shift in opinion? If not for some last minute heroics by MINN, CHI would have covered, in a game I thought would have been MINN big. (I.E. fading the public, money shifts, or just "gut" feelings) Thanks all; trying to develop better vision, and think outside the box.

Thanks "DPO" Assume the same thing was going on this evening with the Dallas Game? But, what triggers the fade? A strong move in the line, public opinion...Trying to figure out what factors alert you that a particular game may be a "fade" play? What about the Raiders vs. Bengals...Fade play? Thanks for taking the time to check-out the "Newbie" forum!

the dallas/nyg game had public action on both sides......and sharp action on both sides......sharps that bet dallas took 7' or higher.. sharps that bet nyg laid no more than 7.....public did what public usually does they took any number...

trying to determine who is moving a line can be tricky.............a good rule of thumb is like the example above......sharps will not take bad numbers........the public will.......anytime a line moves past a key number or past any value......figure public money.....some people figure if a line moves a couple of points.....it has to be a good bet......then again.......the public thought that philly -4 was a steal (line opened at 6).....gl
